Corporate Governance
We are committed to high standards of corporate governance and
recognise that good governance helps the business benefit from
controlled growth whilst ensuring long term goals are met.
Board
We think it best to follow best practice despite being
privately held and not subject to the relevant regulations.
We have one Executive Director and three Non-executives in
accordance with the Combined Code.
Finance
Financial stability is the foundation and strength of our business.
We're cash rich and our largest four clients contribute only 10-15%
of turnover each which means that we are not at risk from them.
Since being established in 1998 we have always been open and honest
about our financial situation and run open book accounts so
prospects and clients alike can gain access to all levels of
financial information. This openness helps make MSM reliable but
also profitable and again helps us to forge long term business
relationships with our clients.
Security
Our security is of absolute importance, and our ICT Policy covers
every aspect. All staff are regularly reminded of the need to
obey the policy. All staff sign Contracts of Employment which
include specific references to IPR and Confidentiality.
Mindful that security is often a people issue rather than a
technical one, all staff are Criminal Records Bureau checked.
We are considering implementing
BS7799. We already endeavour to meet the requirements of the
standard.
We have Business Interruption,
Professional Indemnity and Fidelity insurance. Our Business
Continuity Plan is rigourous and regularly tested.
All redundant hardware is destroyed
(e.g. hard disks are physically drilled) to prevent data recovery
by any malicious party.
We work for clients who have home
addresses of three year old children on their databases, and if
they are confident of our security, everyone should be!
Environmental Impact -
we actively minimise our impact on the
environment
We believe it is important for everyone to aim to minimise their
impact on the planet, notwithstanding global warming it is
instinctively the right thing to do. We have been considering
the environment since 2000, well before the environment became a
bandwagon! We have an Environmental Policy on which staff are
trained and it is regularly reviewed at Board level. The

Community Impact
We encourage our staff to devote some of their precious
free time to community activities such as charity work, community
groups or school governerships. Starting in 2010 every year
we also select a charity to support with various
fundraising activities through the year, and you can help
too.
